One of the regular features of Hollywood is its affinity in making films that are based on interesting novels. A noteworthy point is that the famous Harry Potter series and all the works of the legendary Steven Spielberg films are raised from novels. This trend is also considered healthy especially because novel writers can really get overboard with creative ideas. When these ideas are converted cinematically, refreshing approaches arise.

Popular Tamil novel writer Rajeshkumar is know for suspense-filled and even spooky stories that are well received by thousands of his fans. A novel he had written recently titled, 'Iravil Oru Vaanavil' has caught the fascination of some filmmakers who want to adapt the story for a film. The title they have decided on for the film version is 'Agarathi'.

Rajeshkumar's story delves deep into human relationships when subjected to trying time such as jealousy, the lure of money etc. This story reportedly is brilliantly narrated and has successfully fascinated scores of readers.

The movie will star Pradeep, Mohini, debutante Soundarya, Gemini Kiran, Pavan, Rajkumar, Gayathri Priya, V. R. Moorthy, Sathyan and Mumath Khan.

Dialogues have been written by M. Murugan and cinematography is by Sibiyoan while Sundar C. babu is slated to score music. Screenplay and direction is by Naga Venkatesh while T. Varath and Sumathy Kalyankumar are jointly producing the film. Sharmila Krishnakumar is the co-producer.
